In 1971 four university students formed Queen... This is the story - told by the band, their friends and critics. Complete with insight, wit and revelation, this definitive documentary is built around an extensive unseen archive of the band and exclusive interviews. Aside from the captioned material, the vast majority of the archive footage on screen has never been seen. Unearthed and restored by the film’s producers over six years, it ranges from their first TV appearance to lost promos, interviews, recordings and tour footage to a TOTP performance that was wiped by the BBC but recorded accidentally by the comedian Dick Emery who was home-taping his own show. The archive gives an intimate portrait of the band - from recordings, rehearsals, sound checks and dressing backstage to them watching their own success on TV and the final moments of Freddie recording with the band. This is still airing on the BBC and was released worldwide on Blu Ray and DVD.
