Globe Productions teamed up with Universal Music On Demand and LADbible to develop a visual supplement for the ever-popular UMG streaming playlist brand ACOUSTIC ROOM. The team devised a live performance series where breaking artists would perform 1-2 tracks in a space or ‘room’ that carries emotional sentiment – perhaps the first venue they sold out, the recording studio where they wrote THAT hit, or the cherished family front-room where they first picked up a guitar. There would also be the chance featured artists would treat audiences to a rare cover of a hit-track belonging to one of their idols.
The first series consisted of 12 episodes – 6 artists each delivering 2 performances each – with one going live every Friday on the LADbible network. Films begin with a docu-style prelude, featuring shots of the artists exploring and engaging with the space; the visual sequence is underpinned with VO from the artist telling us where they are, why the space is special to them, and what’s special about performing acoustically. Featured talent include Jax Jones & Mabel, The Manor, Lewis Capaldi, Donae’o, Ray BLK and Big Heath. Locations also spanned from Nan’s & Grandad’s House to a Grand Georgian Post-Colonial Library.
Performance films were cut for LADbible’s multiple platforms, including 9x16 for Instagram TV, 1x1 for Facebook and Twitter, 16x9 for YOUTUBE as well as artist VEVO channels. We also created social teasers for LADbible, featured artists, labels and 3RD parties to cross-promote across social networks. All session recordings got mixed and uploaded onto streaming platforms, premiering exclusively within the official ACOUSTIC ROOM playlist.
